Customer Relationship Analyst

The Customer Relationship Analyst is responsible for negotiating and selling power and gas to the Industrial & Commercial sector. The role involves building relationships with Brokers and Customers and managing this relationship effectively and efficiently to result in the expansion of our business in the UK, and Continent of European sales portfolio.

Role objectives

Flexible energy contracts allow industrial & commercial customers to spread the price risk of their energy requirements across a number of decision points through transacting directly from the UK wholesale power and gas markets. We are keen to grow this area and become the market leader in Risk Management Services for gas and power.

The Energy Procurement Desk facilitates wholesale market transactions by directly interfacing with clients and the Retail Hedging Team. Additionally the team provides risk management services, assisting clients in developing risk policies, hedging strategies, monitoring market positions, understanding the latest market fundamentals and executing transactions effectively.

The responsibility of this team will continue to evolve as Gazprom strives to become the number one risk management service provider in this market place. The team structure includes Market Intelligence, Operations Supervisor, Operations Analyst, Transaction Analyst, Project Analyst and Customer Relationship Analyst, providing critical support to a large portfolio of large I&C power and gas customers.

The role-holder is responsible for negotiating and selling power and gas to the Industrial & Commercial sector. The role involves building relationships with Brokers and Customers and managing this relationship effectively and efficiently to result in the expansion of our business in the UK, and Continent of European sales portfolio.

Ideally you will be a proactive individual that has previous experience of the Energy market place, ideally within an Optimisation/Trading or Sales role, with a proven commercial background.

Duties & Responsibilities

Core Functions

  • Deliver an Energy Procurement Team financial target of £xm
  • Execute client trades efficiently, without error, adding value to the customer and Gazprom
  • Create and distribute market reports (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Update the Sales teams on the overnight influencers of the wholesale market
  • Provide commodity curves to sales teams and Independent Suppliers to retain existing trading and sales margins until such time as this can be automated
  • Operate in accordance with the risk and operational policies of Gazprom both in practice and in spirit
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of any contracts as required

Role Function

  • Manage a specified number of client accounts
  • Develop strong commercial relationship with the client and the Gazprom sales manager responsible for the customer
  • Create bespoke client reports, for the client, on commodity and non-commodity risk
  • Work with invoicing, settlements, accounts to insure bills are accurate, timely and paid
  • Provide KPI’s to report on operational and financial performance for use by the Head of the ROD
  • Active, committed and passionate about developing the team to become an industry leader
  • Assist in the development and delivery of new products to achieve the annual targets

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent understanding of the UK/European energy industry and marketing and trading activity specifics (products, customers and counter-parties)
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • High level of computer skills, including knowledge of statistical and trading system software
  • Good presentational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate complex issues in a clear, understandable manner to customer facing business units
  • Strong business acumen coupled with entrepreneurial flair and energy e.g. able to cope in dynamic environment with rapid business growth

Experience

  • Experience building and maintaining relationships is essential
  • Experience in an Account Management role is preferred
  • Experience in the Energy Sector is desirable
  • Experience of working in an international organisation with overseas parent company an advantage

Education

  • Educated to degree level, numerate related subject preferred
