The Northern Business Expo is the premier business exhibition in the north of England, a chance for small businesses and start-ups to network and build valuable relationships with suppliers, clients and customers — facilitating the potential for future growth. It’s also a great opportunity for SMEs to seek help with certain aspects of their business, whether it’s raising finance, finding new premises or curbing operational overheads, like energy.
With over 100 exhibitors in attendance, as well as an extensive range of free seminars and workshops, the expo is an invaluable resource for SMEs who need further advice, expertise and support to move their business forward.
Given the prominence of the Northern Business Expo, we were proud to be among the businesses exhibiting at this year’s event, and worked hard to ensure every visitor to our stand received the same excellent information and support people have come to expect from Gazprom Energy.
Below, we share some of our experiences of the event, and discuss why we felt our SME business offering would be a good match for the Northern Business Expo.
On Thursday 6 and Friday 7 April, a team of representatives from Gazprom Energy took their place at stand B22 of the NBE, ready to exhibit our competitive small business energy offering to the masses. The team was made up of people from both our marketing and sales departments, including SME Direct Manager, Josh Price; Contract Negotiator, Iain Powell; Contract Negotiator, Josh King; Marketing & Communications Manager, Yvonne Henderson; Marketing Executive, Sarah Barlow; and Marketing & Communications Assistance, Lizzie Blower.
With up to 5,000 delegates expected to attend the exhibition from various businesses and organisations across the UK and beyond, this was a chance to introduce visitors to Gazprom Energy, and provide them with an outline of what we do, how we do it and what we can offer to their business to help better manage their energy requirements.
Throughout the event, we were keen to demonstrate that we are a local supplier capable of working with small start-ups as well as large industrial firms. Our stand design reflected our simple, transparent and accessible approach to business energy, encouraging delegates to pop in for a chat and get help with their energy requirements
During the event, we spoke to a variety of business professionals, helping some to get a no-obligation quote for their energy use and offering others simple business energy saving tips and advice. It was great to be able to talk to SMEs about their experience of the business energy market, and hear valuable feedback which can be used to improve and update our own services.
We had a fantastic experience at the event and would like to thank all those who visited our stand to talk all things energy. We not only talked with potential new customers, but enjoyed speaking to business professionals about the pressures and demands of managing energy — feedback and insight which will prove extremely valuable in developing our SME business energy offering further.
So, what were we able to offer small businesses at the Northern Business Expo? And how did we engage with the SME community attending the event?
Our small business energy solutions are built on simplicity and transparency, helping remove any of the hassle associated with managing energy contracts from a small business perspective. From our simple five-step switching process to our no-nonsense fixed-rate gas and electricity contracts; every aspect of our small business energy offering is tailored to the needs of SMEs, helping them free up time and focus on driving their business forward.
At the NBE, we introduced SMEs to our simple and cost-effective energy offering, focusing on our transparent approach and award-winning UK-based support team.
