Please tell us a bit about your professional background, what attracted you to working at Gazprom Energy, and how long you’ve been with the business.
I joined the energy industry after leaving college and took up a role in the trading department at one of the UK’s most established third-party intermediaries (TPIs). While the role was challenging, it was also stimulating and provided a perfect foundation for embarking on a full career in the Industry. Since then, I have increased my experience and exposure across the UK TPI sector, specifically in account management – working with some of the UK’s largest industrial and commercial customers.
The appeal of working for such an established and global company is what attracted me to Gazprom Energy. Given the success of the UK business and the number of exciting projects we are involved with across Europe and beyond, the opportunities for development and career progression make working for Gazprom Energy in the long-term an exciting prospect.
What is your position within the team, and what does your role involve day-to-day?
As Corporate Account Manager, I’m responsible for both new business sales and retention across both direct clients and third-party intermediaries (TPIs). My role is to ensure that Gazprom Energy delivers against customers’ commercial objectives, while providing excellent customer service.
I believe that becoming a ‘trusted advisor’ to customers, TPIs and internal colleagues is paramount to being successful in this role.
What do you find enjoyable and satisfying about your role within the business?
Firstly, I enjoy working with the people here at Gazprom Energy. I haven’t been here too long, but it’s clear to see we have very strong and capable teams across all areas of the business.
As a salesperson, the challenge and reward of winning new business and hitting commercial targets must be my main motivator. Our retention of customer contracts is proof that our teams are providing excellent service, while at the same time adding real value.
