A typical day at Gazprom Energy
Name: Olufemi Obudu Team: Mid-market sales First day: 8th November 2010
What attracted you to Gazprom Energy?
It is a funny story! For my Masters in Oil & Gas Law, I actually wrote a paper on Gazprom so I had done a lot of research on the company. The brand really attracted me as they are one of the largest gas producers in the world and a major player in the industry. I applied for a sales role with Gazprom Energy and was fortunate enough to be successful!
The first thing I do is plan and prioritise. You need to be really organised here and because I manage some key accounts I want to ensure I'm fully prepared for the day. Next, I open my bottom drawer where my sugar stash is – I love sweets, biscuits etc and rather than caffeine to kick start my morning, I rely entirely on sugar.
I spend almost all of my time speaking to customers and brokers, either on the phone, online or in person. I'm really passionate about giving them the best service possible and I’ve built really strong relationships with my customers, brokers and consultants over the years. So much so, I've received personalised chocolates before to aid my sugar addiction!
I've been involved in testing software and often help review processes such as our change of tenancy process and Customer Experience. I enjoy working on anything that improves the customer experience.
I really enjoy working here, the daily challenges I face in my job and working with brokers and customers. But away from that, I think the work-life balance is fantastic. We get to do all sorts…I’ve been sailing with colleagues from different parts of the business and offices around the globe, I play in the company football team and there are quite a few social events throughout the year which are always fun. The most recent one was our Summer BBQ which was a great night. These are also great opportunities to meet your colleagues from other parts of the business, including the senior management team.
