Settlements Analyst

Role Objectives

The Settlements Analyst is responsible for analysing, validating and approving key supplier invoices. In addition, the role will support the wider Finance team as required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis, validation and approval of industry invoices
  • Conduct analysis, validation and approval of broker commission invoices
  • Perform trade confirmations process and reconciliation/agreement of intercompany invoices
  • Liaise with external counterparties such as National Grid and XoServe to resolve issues
  • Liaise with internal departments such as Finance, Sales, Metering and Billing
  • Assist in providing analysis and support for the monthly financial accounts
  • Conduct variance analysis between industry costs and customer billing
  • Investigate reasons for under-recoveries
  • Production of monthly reporting
  • Recovery of gross margin costs
  • To aid in the development of models to assist with the validation process
  • Assist with the documentation of Processes
  • To be aware of and comply with all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Gazprom Energy Data Protection policy, Equal Opportunities policy, and the Email and Internet Acceptable Usage Policy, in addition to Fire and Health and Safety Regulations.

  • Ability to manipulate large data sets within Excel and Access to identify variances and discrepancies
  • Good understanding of financial processes
  • Displays analytical skills & attention to detail
  • Strong desire and ability to learn new skills
  • Previous experience of working in a Finance/Settlements department
  • Understanding of the UK energy industry would be an advantage
  • Experience of SQL would be advantageous

Education

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in relevant subject, or relevant work experience
