Supplier Account Manager

Role objectives

The key focus of this role is to plan and implement Account Management strategies that will enable the successful and profitable expansion of the Independent Supplier business, resulting in long term strategic partnerships with I&C and Domestic suppliers. Fundamentally this role is a sales role and it is critical that the role holder achieves aggressive gas sales targets. They will be expected to generate new products to support the growth of independent suppliers

These results will be achieved by creating products and implementing services that will add value to the current portfolio. The successful candidate will be tasked with building and developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Sell gas shipper services to UK energy suppliers (either domestic or I&C)
  • Day to day account management of existing suppliers, working closely with other Gazprom Energy internal stakeholders and external third parties to resolve customer queries
  • Develop Gazprom Energy’s expertise with shipper services.
  • To bring new services and technologies to the Gazprom Energy portfolio
  • To be willing to represent and promote the Gazprom Energy brand both internally and externally at conferences and seminars.
  • Provide market insight
  • Work with Operations to ensure all accounts are managed to an exceptionally high level.
  • To be aware of and comply with all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Gazprom Energy Data Protection policy, Equal Opportunities policy, and the Email and Internet Acceptable Usage Policy, in addition to Fire and Health and Safety Regulations.
  • You may also be required to carry out any other duties within the scope and purpose of this role as requested by your line manager and in line with business needs.

  • Excellent understanding of  the need to provide business solutions to drive Retail’s commercial activities
  • Good Microsoft Office computer skills (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, e-mail)
  • Concern for accuracy and ability to meet tight deadlines

Experience

  • Previous experience in a Key Account Manager role.
  • In depth knowledge of the UK Energy Industry especially gas shipping
  • Experience in carrying out complicated commercial negotiations
  • Knowledge and experience in the implementation of Industry processes and contractual obligations
  • A minimum of three years successful energy sales experience.
  • Experience of providing business process solutions in support of improving business performance.
  • Experience of working in an international organisation with overseas parent company an advantage
  • A track record in implementing Sales strategies.

Education

  • Degree level education (or equivalent) or relevant industry experience
