Gas emergencies

If you smell gas or suspect a gas leak please call The National Gas Emergency Service. It's free and is operated 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Customers in the UK should call: 0800 111 999

Customers in the Republic of Ireland should call The National Gas Emergency Service: 1850 20 50 50

You should also take the following actions:

- Open all doors and windows for ventilation

- Turn your gas supply and gas appliances off at the mains

- Avoid smoking and the use of any naked flames

- Avoid turning off/on any electrical switches

Power cuts

In the event of a power cut you should contact your local distribution company.

If you are unsure of who your local distribution company is, please refer to your electricity invoice where you will find a two digit regional electricity company (REC) code within your electricity supply number.
